THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE BAjA BASH!!
Benefit event raised important funds for us to conserve our coast and oceans.
Muchas Gracias to all of you for supporting the Baja Bash! Because of your support, we raised nearly $36,000 to conserve coastal ecosystems and wildlife! We loved seeing so many familiar faces and longtime supporters and partners, as well as meeting new WiLDCOAST friends! And HUGE thanks go to Nortec Collective: Hiperboreal for their amazing performance, and for their latest video post!
From the fabulous auction items, super fun margaritas, beer and wine, to the San Diego food trucks and vendors, the cocktail reception kicked off the evening with festive fun. Tijuana’s own Los Zaragoza brought their cool jazz to the San Diego Bay and the feathered friends from the Raptor Institute brought us face to face with our region’s wildlife we work to protect.
We were blown away by the array of sustainable Baja seafood culinary creations from Javier Plascencia and his team from Tijuana’s Mision 19, Benito Molina and Solange Muris and their team from Ensenada’s Manzanilla, and Diego Hernandez and his team from Corazon de Tierra, located in the Valle de Guadalupe. Huge thanks go to them all for their support and for bringing the best of Baja to San Diego!
We were honored to present Maria Celeste and Octavio Aburto with our first Ocean Defender awards, for their tireless efforts to educate the public, through media and research, about threats to our coasts and oceans. We are proud to have them as partners to help us conserve the coastlines and wildlife we care so much about.
And, last but not at all least, Nortec Collective: Hiperboreal rocked the roof of the Port Pavilion, with a mix of electronic border rock and Norteno sounds, which perfectly topped off the night! We danced the night away, in celebration of the coast and region we love.
Thanks go to our media partners and event sponsors: STAR 94.1, 101 KGB, Baja.com, San Diego Gas & Electric, Alaskan Airlines, Sony Playstation and Pacifica Companies. In addition, we could not have hosted this event without donations of seafood from Acuacultural Integral and Abulones Cultivados, margaritas from Peligroso Tequila, beer from Cerveza Tijuana, Ballast Point, and Stone Brewery Company, as well as the amazing wines from Casa de Piedra and Adobe Guadalupe.
Thank you again for your support and please consider becoming a monthly sustainer of WiLDCOAST! We work daily to conserve our coastal ecosystems and wildlife, along the Californias and into Southern Mexico and we cannot address new and continued threats without your support.
