Graphic Designer Intern


Position title: Graphic Designer Intern

Summary: Be part of our Get To Know Your Underwater Parks campaign in San Diego by designing innovative logos, brochures and images to engage our public through our events, website and/or social media.

Job Description: You will be designing or helping to design brochures, logos, signs for events, as well as creating unique images, pictures and interactive web displays to engage the public through our website or social media.  You may also produce sketches, graphic layouts, artwork and use photography to produce graphics.

Supervisor: Marine Coordinator, Diane Castaneda


·      In the process or have a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design.

·      Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.

·      Knowledge of layout, color, grids and typography.

·      Experience with social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, instagram, etc.)

·      Ability to write in Spanish (preferred)

·      Ability to adjust to a fast paced environment

·      Strong attention to detail

·      Organized, punctual and professional

·      Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours a week.


  1. Gain experience working in a fast paced environment.
  2. Gain school credit for internship requirement.
  3. Be part of our innovative marine conservation campaigns.
  4. Practice Spanish writing skills
  5. Gain an understanding of and help impact environmental, political and socio-economic issues.


Length of Commitment: Approximately 3 months
